DK & The Affordables

DK & The Affordables

D.K. Warner, The Jemez Hillbilly-Vocals, Guitar, Interesting Tidbits Drummer, upright bass player, guitarist, former hair band member turned hillbilly greaser. An eclectic blend would best describe D.K.’s musical history.
Crossing paths with many musicians and fans of music over the 33 years he has been performing professionally has provided him with a rather varied repertoire. Limited time in music school during his college years did little to provide him with the background that he was seeking.
The biggest musical direction and influence truly came from Jim Bowie, a Buddhist banjo master originally from Oklahoma. Impromptu musical gatherings in a collection of antiquated mobile homes in the hills of the Sangre De Cristo Mountains were in some form classroom sessions for the master and student. Later, involvement with The Ramon Bermudez Group , Fat Guys With Money, The Nomads, and Julie Stewart and the Motorkings provided further musical direction. In addition to fronting DK and The Affordables, he currently plays drums with The Surf Lords.

Aaron Anderson
(Keyboards)
Aaron started playing the piano when he was 10. Despite his piano teacher’s best efforts to keep him classically focused, his parents’ record collection especially the American Graffiti soundtrack, won the battle for his ears and hands. Aaron played jazz, rock, and blues in Idaho in the late 90’s, studying formally with Chuck Smith, Sandon Mayhew, Maryanne Saunders, and Art Houle in the Boise area, and informally in college bars, dive-bars, pick-up bands, and impromptu jam sessions.
After a brief hiatus in pursuit of an advanced degree, Aaron found himself in Los Alamos, New Mexico with a real job, but the music itch never left. He has played with a few groups around Los Alamos, including the Rio Grande Mud Band (2007-2009), and the Craig Martin Experience jazz combo (2010-). He also builds his own instrument and road cases.
Rob Heineman
(Bass)
Rob was born at a very early age. Since that time he has provided the groove for Fat Guys With Money, The Ramon Bermudez Group, Julie Stewart and the Motorkings, The Tiho Dimitrov Band, Craig Martin Experience and Zenobia.
Quinn Marksteiner
(Saxophone)
Quinn Marksteiner grew up in Houston, Texas, and started playing saxophone when he was 12 years old. He studied with several teachers, including Martin Langford, Joe Freilich and Martin Van Mannen in high school and Steve Jordheim in college.
In high school and college, Quinn also played in numerous jazz and concert bands.
After college and before moving to Los Alamos, Quinn played in the Southlake Community Swing Band, the short lived comedy rock band “Yea, But It’s a Dry Heat”, and the Jazz/Funk band Lo Jazar. In Los Alamos, Quinn also plays in the Los Alamos Community Winds and the Craig Martin Experience.
